No accounts, no names, no emails, no ads. That’s the short version — but it’s not the whole story, so here’s the honest, specific one.
Farfalle is an independent, two-person project — not a company. For anything privacy-related, write to privacy@farfalle.app.
| Item | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Session & host tokens | Let your browser rejoin the room you're in — nothing more. | Deleted when the room is cleaned up, ~7 days after it ends. |
| Team name | Whatever your team picks (e.g. “Team Pizza”) — not tied to your identity. | Deleted with the room. |
| A random per-device ID | A code generated in your browser (not linked to your name) so we can see roughly how many hosts come back. | Kept indefinitely in an aggregate stats table, even after the room itself is gone. |
| Where you came from | A short tag from the link you clicked to get here, so we know which shares/ads work. | Same aggregate table as above. |
| Post-game rating | Only if you answer the optional 0–10 survey at the end. | The score only (no comments), in the same aggregate table. |
We don’t collect your name, email, or anything else that identifies you personally — there’s no account to attach it to.
Farfalle doesn’t use cookies. The items above are stored in your browser’s localStorage, which stays on your device and is never used to track you across other sites.
We use Vercel’s cookieless analytics to see roughly how many people visit. Per Vercel’s own documentation, it doesn’t use cookies or store your IP address, and identifies visits with a hash that’s discarded after 24 hours. Separately, Vercel’s hosting infrastructure logs standard web request data (including IP address), the way any web host does — that’s covered by Vercel’s own privacy notice, not ours.
Two companies process data on our behalf, as instructed by us — neither uses it for their own purposes:
Room and gameplay data is deleted about 7 days after a game ends idle. The small set of aggregate, non-identifying stats described above (device ID, referral tag, rating) is kept longer so we can understand usage trends over time — but it’s never linked to your name and never shown to anyone outside the two people running Farfalle.
Since there’s no account or login, most requests amount to asking us to stop associating a device ID with your device, or a general question about what we hold. Email privacy@farfalle.app and we’ll sort it out directly — you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority at any time.
Farfalle isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data about them.
We may update this page as the game changes. The date at the top is the source of truth.
